So this day started out FANTASTIC and got logorithmically worse.
Found out a good friend from high school not only got fired from his (GOOD) job because he was smoking pot (and doing other things) but that he RAN OFF TO WYOMING TO LIVE IN A TENT WITH A KID WHO HAS FAILED OUT OF MULTIPLE REHABS, AND IS NOW DROPPING ACID AND E.
I am so depressed you have no idea. I keep getting flashbacks to Jacob's funeral and this is all not. good.
Also, part three of Dr. Horrible is up, and... yeeeeeah... =S
Thought this video would be of interest to you all:
A little flasback, I got my Paragard the second try, last May 9th,insertion went very smoothly compare to the first try, I have slightly enlarged uterus due to fibroids which are located outside my uterus, I was on the pills for 9.5 years and had to be off them because of high blood pressure.
I'm happy to share that everything's well with my iud,I went in for my 2 mos.follow-up check-up last July 10th, my dr. tried just to feel the strings first, then had to take a peek and she said everything's fine, I told her I have a hard time looking/feeling for the strings and that I can only feel one, her answer was because my cervix is hard to find because of my fibroids and not to worry if I only feel 1 string because one of the string is shorter than the other-I have a feeling that was the case because when I had it inserted she had to trim them one after the other, she reassured me that she saw 2, and just to check every 3 mos.-'cause I've been whining about how hard it is to find them.I just finished my 3rd period, I had 2 periods in the month of May,before and after insertion, first perod I had some mild cramps and a little heavier than my usual period, the second time, just a mild cramp and less heavy ,3rd period was July 14th and ended yesterday and I haven't had cramps before it came just 1day of mild spotting-don't even need a liner, all periods lasted 3 days 1 day longer than when I was on the pills which I think is not bad at all, it feels like I'm going back to my pre-paragard periods.I'm so glad that I don't have to worry about birth control for 10 years, and my libido is back!! dh couldn't be happier, I'm in the mood after my period and don't take much to get me in the mood anymore:) used to be when I was on the pill I always say I have a headache which is true-migraine headaches, it's kind of hard to get in the mood when I get them so often, now that I'm off the pills migraines are gone also thanks to Paragard sex is more like when we first got married, I never realized until now what the pills had done to my libido, I just thought because I'm tired and we're busy or because I had a migraine.I highly recommend the iud's -the no hassle birth control option.

I have a question that I'm hoping someone here has run up against. My neurologist, who currently is serving as my demi-god, has put me on Topamax for my migraines. It's working fairly well, but from past experience, I know that it's worked better at higher doses. Unfortunately, those higher doses were before I had to worry about pesky things like birth control.
Is anyone here using the Mirena and taking Topamax? How high of a dose has your doctor been willing to put you on? My doctor's wary of anything higher than 150 mg, although 200 mg has worked far better for my headaches in the past. I'm currently scouring the internet for something that will help me convince him to bump up the dosage, but I thought I'd try you lovelies first.

My doggie is really sick. We're scared she ate a piece of Sierra's bone (Sierra is her doggie friend. She played with him the other day at his house) or something and can't pass it. She initially was having stomach problems out both ends, now she can do neither but she tries...
She is lethargic and sad and didn't even want to go for a walk.
My mom is taking her to the vet. I'm really scared because if it's like thousands of dollars for an operation (if she needs one) then we just... we can't do it.
I don't know what I'll do if she goes.
hi,
i just got my mirena iud yesterday afternoon. the insertion wasn't as bad as i expected, but i sure was nervous. i've had some mild cramps but nothing unbearable. i have yet to check my strings because i'm a little weary about anything going in my vagina, and that got me thinking about the first time i have sex since my insertion... did any of you experience any issues having sex after getting your iud? anything i should be wary of or look out for?
thanks!
Hello all, long time reader, first time poster :)
I am severely craving some Pad Thai, so I was wondering if you had any tried and true recipes. I have a few printed from various websites, and I have the Moosewood cookbook but all the recipes are so different from each other I don't know which one to use! If any of you have any ideas, I would certainly appreciate them :) Thanks a bunch!
My google-fu has failed me. I am looking for retail spaces in the north side of the city (dublin, worthington, westerville, gahanna)and as much fun as it would be to drive around for two weeks straight, i figured I would ask you lovely people if you know of anything right off hand. i have found one site to check out (www.ohiocommercialinvestments.com) but I know there are more. at least, I hope there are more. So, what do you guys know or where would you look?

So i made this post a while back about my first mirena insertion attempt. A couple of hours ago, on the 2nd day of my period I was in and out of the doctors office in a half hour with a mirena :) And I'm now sitting pretty with a heating pad but not really in much pain at all.
I inserted some cytotec up there this morning just to give the sounding device a fighting chance at getting through this time. After having a doctor prodding at your closed cervix with the thing for 20 minutes one time... going back and suddenly feeling it *whoosh* straight through is a major shock to the system, to the point my legs were shaking in surprise. I measured 7cm. It certainly wasn't a fun experience, but a lot of deep breathing and an amazing doctor helped me get through it all without shedding a tear.
I'm just so relieved that I can spend the next 5 years (or less, who knows, I may want to make babies in a few) not having to stress over birth control. And I just wanted to thank everyone who reassured me last time that they would get it in there eventually, especially the person who said that after 3 attempts, she made sure to get an appointment when her period was heavy the 4th time and it seemed to do the trick, I took that advice and made an appointment as soon as I knew mine was coming. Now I just have to hope the little critter doesn't expel on me, but other than that, I'm so excited that it's finally in there!
DARK NIGHT WAS FUCKING AMAZING.
Before the movie even started, something happened to the reel and it wasn't feeding or something. So our movie started at least 45 minutes late, but it wasn't a problem for us because we had no other plans for the day. =D I think the only thing we really missed was the preview for Mummy III. Honestly, though, what was with the Dark Knight preview? Haha.
Anyway, so everyone got a free ticket out of the deal, but the jerks in front of us left, so they didn't really get a free ticket, just a readmittance ticket. HAHAHA to them. But you know what? I am SO glad they left. We were the first ones in the theatre this morning (other than the workers obviously-- but 9:30 showing) and we were just alking normally and being a little goofy like we are. Katy and I were singing Dr. Horrible because we both had it stuck in our heads, which is awesome because she knew about it even though she wasn't there last night when we watched it. =D And these guys kept rolling their eyes and shaking their heads at us as we sang along to the song (I had it on my phone) or talked about stuff (like the Indiana Jones trivia... heh) or the movies coming out or whatever. Clearly these guys had issues, with what, I don't know. It's not like the talk through the movie (I mean, we whisper, and very quietly, but still).
ANYWAY SO. Movie was awesome. I like watching movies with Katy because she notices a lot of weird things like I do and laughs at retarded things like I do, too. So I feel like less of an idiot when we're the only two laughing in the theatre, lol.
But damn... That was a great movie.
Probably spoilers in the comments, so watch yo'selves.
Oh, man, one of only two things that bothered me-- What are your opinions on the city itself? I think the last one was more like New York, darker and buildings closer together and dirtier, and obviously in this one it was supposed to be like Chi-town. (Wasn't it even filmed there, partly? Which, by the way, Katy and I DIED when they had part of a chase through the mall-- You can guess why.) But the buildings were super-clean and I felt like the town itself wasn't so... scary? Maybe that was supposed to be a reflection on the DA's (you know who I mean) part in things. I dunno.
( okay, this is getting long; spoiler cut )
Oh man, Bond trailer = YES.
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how long you have to make up course work after you receive an I (Incomplete)? I thought it was 6 weeks into your next enrolled quarter, but I am not sure. Thanks!
Does anyone know where I can get about 20-30 Phonebooks for a prank that I want to do to my boss at work. The prank is that I am going to fill his cube with ripped out phone book pages instead of foam peanuts
Anyone know if North Market sells snake meat? or any butchers that do?
Hello Everyone,
First of this is a great site, I have learned so much about IUDs from here, thank you for all the advice. Unforntunately I do have another question. I am 6 weeks in with my mirena and had the usual spotiing and cramping. I think I have even had two periods in there some where, but I am not sure. But the other morning when I got up and went to the bathroom there was a grayish like clump on the toilet paper. (Ewww I know, sorry) It kinda reminded me of skin when you get a sunburn and peel, but a little thicker. Can anyone tell me if maybe this is part of my uterine lining and if it is normal? I checked for strings and they were there and then just spotted for the rest of the day and didn't have anymore clumps like that. Thank you in advance for info you can give me. I love being a diva!
Hi Divas,
I'm new and I have some questions. I'm sorry if this is long or if some of these questions have already been answered, I checked the memories but didn't find them.
I've been thinking about a Paragard IUD for awhile now.....I've decided against hormones for several reasons...but let's just say I was on the pill (different kinds too) since I was 16 and I recently went off them about 7 months ago....I feel great!!!
I'm 24, happily married, monogamous, haven't had any children yet and don't want any for at least another 2 or 3 years. I live in the greater Seattle area and would love to find an awesome Ob/GYN that believes in giving the Paragard to women who haven't had a baby. Anyone know of a good one that they trust??
My other question is this....I'm reading that you have to be on your period to get it inserted....is that true??? Do you absolutely have to be?? I don't mind that....but timing wise...I'd like to get it sooner.
TIA
Suppose you have put jam on a waffle, and assume that it is evenly spread: every point on the waffle has 1 millimeters of jam or 0 millimeters of jam. Given an equator line, consider the jam along every line parallel to it. How would you go about choosing the initial equator line that minimizes the standard deviation among the lines parallel to it?
Bonus points: what if each point has between 0 and 1 millimeters of jam, inclusively?
EDIT: Let's restrict the problem so that all points with jam form a closed set. In the bonus problem, let's require waffle-> jam to be continuous.

Hi, everyone! I'm trying to get back into vegetarianism. I ate a vegetarian diet for two years, up until last year, however, I did it most unhealthily. I cooked a little, but mostly relied on fast food and general junk that was just not good for me at all.
I have a few questions for you:
1. What are your favorite all-purpose cookbooks? I'm partial to ones full of pictures, but they are not necessary.
2. What staples do you keep in your kitchen at all times to help you make a myriad of meals? My kitchen is currently empty (embarrassingly so) and I'll be needing to hit the grocery store very soon. Anything and everything you can think of is welcome!
3. Has anyone tried the new Wishbone Bountifuls salad dressings? If so, what are your thoughts on them? Any recipes you've tried them with? I'm a HUGE fan of salads and sandwiches, so I'm always trying to find new recipes for these things. Feel free to give me your favorite recipes and ideas for those munchies. :)
I'm really excited about getting back into vegetarianism, and I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions. Thank you! :)
